About

Small moments, a richer everyday

Biyori is a space for Japanese culture in everyday life.

Through wagashi, tea, kimono and seasonal gatherings, I share the beauty of traditions that continue to inspire me — and invite you to experience them, too.

My Story

From curiosity to a way of life

My journey with Japanese culture began many years ago with a simple curiosity.

What started with wagashi and tea slowly grew to include kimono, seasonal traditions and the many small details that make everyday life in Japan so rich.

Over time, this curiosity became a lifelong path of learning.

Biyori is the result of this journey — a place where I can share what I have learned, continue to grow, and create meaningful experiences with others.

A personal note

Hello, I’m Yen

I am Yen, the founder of Biyori.

I am originally from the Philippines and now live in Germany.

Through Biyori, I share my love for Japanese culture and create spaces where people can experience its beauty in a relaxed and welcoming way.

I believe that Japanese traditions are not only something from the past, but also a source of inspiration for our everyday lives today.

It would be a joy to welcome you to one of my workshops or events.

My practice & Training

Always learning, always practising

The traditions I share through Biyori are also part of my own continuing journey of learning.

I study Japanese tea ceremony in the Urasenke School of Tea, where I continue to deepen my understanding of tea, hospitality and the seasonal details that surround a gathering.

I have also received professional training in kitsuke, the art of dressing kimono, and continue to develop my knowledge of kimono, coordination and the customs surrounding Japanese dress.

For me, learning these traditions is not about reaching a final point. It is an ongoing practice — one that I hope to share with care, curiosity and respect.
